#2. University of Winnipeg 2023 International Student Entrance Awards – Canada

The Richard J. Van Loon Scholarship, worth $5,000 for the academic year 2022/2023, is given annually to an excellent overseas student from an African country. Friends, relatives, and colleagues endowed the award in 2005 in memory of Richard J. Van Loon, Carleton’s 10th President.
Requirements
- You must be a citizen of an African country.
- You must be an international student with a valid Study Permit for Canada.
- Must be enrolled full-time at Carleton University and successfully progress from one year to the next in any program of study.

#6. Canada’s 2023 Entrance Bursary Program for International Students
McGill University is committed to assisting qualified undergraduate students who require financial aid in their academic pursuits. The Entrance Bursary Program at the University provides entrance bursaries to students from low- to moderate-income families who demonstrate financial need. All of the following are eligible to apply:
Newly admitted first-year, first-degree undergraduates and new first-year undergraduate direct entrants to professional programs in Medicine and Law (with prior degree)
Requirements
- Candidates from all over the world can apply.
- The award is available for University undergraduate courses.
- Candidates must be full-time University degree students.
- Face financial obstacles by complementing other sources of funding such as government assistance, Indigenous Band Support Funding, part-time job, parental support, and other sources of funding.
Language: English Requirement: Students must take the TOEFL or IELTS test to establish their English language proficiency.

How To Apply
The application becomes available on Minerva upon notification of acceptance to the University (either by formal letter or via the Admissions Status page on Minerva): Navigate to the Financial Aid/Awards tab > Apply for a McGill Entrance Bursary > Apply to the Entrance Bursary Program > Fill out and submit your application.
In addition to the McGill Minerva aid application, Canadian (citizens or permanent residents) students studying outside of Canada must submit a CSS Financial Aid Profile to the Scholarships & Student Aid Office.
Students from the United States who intend to apply to the University’s Entrance Bursary Program must submit a CSS Profile in addition to the McGill Minerva assistance application.
International (non-US) applicants wishing to apply to the University’s Entrance Bursary Program must submit a CSS Profile in addition to the McGill Minerva assistance application.
#7. University of Toronto International Undergraduate Students – President’s Scholars of Excellence Program – Canada
President’s Scholars of Excellence are around 90 of the most highly qualified secondary school students applying to the first year of direct entry, undergraduate studies. They will receive a $10,000 admission scholarship in their first year of study, guaranteed access to part-time, meaningful on-campus employment in their second year, and assured access to an overseas learning opportunity during their time at U of T.
The admitting Faculty may provide additional benefits, which will be disclosed expressly in the admission letter. Outstanding domestic and international secondary school students are automatically considered for these scholarships based on their grade point average at the time of admission (applicants who have previously attended a post-secondary institution are not eligible for consideration for President’s Scholars of Excellence). The scholarship is only available to the Faculty that made the offer. Payment of the award is contingent on full-time enrollment at the University in the fall of the year the award is issued; retention of the award’s higher-year options is contingent on the student’s continued full-time enrollment in good standing.

#8. The University of Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson 2023 International Scholarship Program
The University of Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson Overseas Scholarships offers a unique opportunity for excellent international students to study at one of the world’s greatest universities in one of the world’s most
multicultural cities. The scholarship program is designed to celebrate students who have demonstrated great academic achievement and innovation, as well as who are recognized as school leaders. A strong emphasis is placed on the student’s impact on the life of their school and community, as well as their future potential to positively contribute to the global community.
Requirements
To be eligible for the Pearson International Scholarship, you must be: an international student (a non-Canadian requiring a study permit); currently in your final year of secondary school or have graduated no earlier than June 2022; and starting your studies at the University of Toronto in September 2023. (students already attending post-secondary studies cannot be considered; students starting their studies in January 2023 at another post-secondary institution cannot be considered)
